Adopted in July 2005

I received a call in July 2005, from a woman and the Western Reserve Animal
Society. She told me that she had spoken with the head of the Human
Society in my local neighborhood and had been given my name. She had this
rabbit that had been turned in at a pet store, and someone felt sorry for it so
they picked it up and brought it to her. She didn't have the resources to
care for rabbits and wanted to know if I could help.
I hesitated a bit, having lost so many rabbits and having refused all prior
requests and not wanting to adopt any more. However, I now realized that
Precious was the only bunny I had left and she had never been alone before.
I thought it might be nice for her to have a friend again. We talked some
more and learned that we shared a vet and she agreed to pay for the spay.
Later that day, the bunny named Freckles was brought to my home.
Freckles was very gentle and seemed like a pile of mush. We previously
had a bunny named Freckles and she was the love of my daughter Arielle's life.
I asked Arielle if she would be ok with us keeping this rabbits name as Freckles
or would she prefer that we give her another name. Arielle like the idea
of keeping the name Freckles and she became Freckles the II.
